Eve
Some people roleplay to explore other psyches, to consider what it would be like in other worlds, other places. Some people roleplay because they want to immerse themselves in a very different reality. And then there are people like Eve, who roleplay because in the real world they will never be inserted into this kind of adventure – but their central self will never change.
Tarkka-Ampuja
Tarkka has lived a very strange life. Born on the orcish reservations that are all that’s left of a once-mighty presence in Kalliomaa, the warrior woman has been many things in her time; local sheriff and warden, despised turncoat walking between orcish and human nations, and eventually, scout and advance guard within Kalliomaa’s armies, a decorated veteran given extreme leeway by her General.
Julian
We’re all a little worried about Julian. His heart’s in the right place, and when he’s got a girlfriend, he’s the nicest guy you could ever hope to meet. At the moment, though, he doesn’t – and the results speak for themselves.
Erika
A beauty, to be sure; but her renown does not come from that, but from her willingness to step to battle and her prowess with the twin blades. Often found as an adjunct to the official armies, whenever General Urhokas does not believe the army should officially engage. Like many such adventurers, her history is otherwise nebulous.
Rebecca
Rebecca will be a familiar figure to many roleplayers, with her aggressive need to kill driven, perhaps, by a seething cauldron of torment needing to be worked off, or perhaps by some misplaced belief that in the top right corner of the game world there’s a score slowly creeping up with each lingering death, every satisfyingly deadly critical hit. In her normal life, she is an emergency room nurse.
Kova
There may be a more dangerous warrior with a two-handed blade than Kova somewhere in this world, but you wouldn’t put money on it. She has dedicated her life to date to the mastery of that blade, and as a consequence, she has become one of the most sought-after mercenaries around – though she’s not above dedicating herself to a cause if she thinks it will bring her the success in battle that is all she truly craves.
Mark
Don’t let Mark’s appearance fool you. Inside that cynical bearded exterior is a man who loves it when the action starts to race and who consistently looks to be at the centre of the story. He’s chosen his characters wisely, every time, looking to judge what the campaign will encompass and building to fit.
Veitsi
A noble warrior whose dedication to the god he serves – the bright Valoisa – has ruled his life, Veitsi nonetheless finds himself divided in allegiance between his church and his country; his blood is noble, his calling divine, and the tension between the two, regrettably, has defined his life, a man endlessly trapped between two worlds.
Anthony
It started with the Lord of the Rings movies. Anthony fell in love with the idea of the elf, buying up every shred of pointy-eared merchandise, and stumbled on roleplaying as a result. He came in looking for larger than life characters and found one – Rebecca. If you were ever looking for a Big Damn Hero, you’d find it in Anthony’s heart and in his dreams. If you were ever looking for a bank clerk, you’d find it in Anthony’s normal behaviour, out of game – but Anthony is a dreamer through and through.
Kivi
Dedicated to the worship of Valoisa, the God of Light, Kivi is a conduit for the divine power of his master, making him one of the few in the world to channel otherworldly powers. While perhaps not the sharpest tool in the box, he is nonetheless confident and adept with his trusty mace.
Beth
What happens when a social outcast blossoms? Ostracism drove her to roleplaying, and roleplaying revealed a hitherto unsuspected skill in manipulation, falsehood, and all-round devious behaviour. That was ten years ago; Beth has put her talents to good use ever since. As she’s matured, she’s also become more comfortable with her role within any social group; the cunning one, the manipulator, the sneak… Deadly when you don’t expect it.
Varkaus
No one really knows where Varkaus comes from, or how he came to know Tarkka-Ampuja so well. His knives are deadly, his grace uncanny, and his background undefined – he is the consummate craftsman of theft.
